Parking enforcement has been temporarily lifted in many areas of Los Angeles County as crews continue to battle devastating wildfires across the region.
But don’t expect to park wherever you want without consequences.
Parking enforcement rules were relaxed when the fires started last week. But as cities begin to recover and rebuild, some agencies have resumed parking enforcement operations, while others will continue to provide motorists with respite from parking tickets.

pasadena
The City of Pasadena has suspended most parking enforcement until further notice. city website explain. Suspended actions include enforcing street sweeping, overnight and concession parking violations.
However, the city will continue to issue citations for red flag violations, including parking in red zones, posting no-parking zones and blocking fire hydrants or driveways.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Wednesday that its Altadena station, which handles parking-related issues in unincorporated communities, has suspended parking enforcement this week.
Sheriff’s Lt. Ethan Marks said helping residents evacuate safely has been the agency’s top priority.
“People losing their homes and getting a parking ticket on their car — that’s not really what we’re focusing on,” Marquez said. “Once the mandatory evacuations are lifted, we will resume normal operations.”
Marks said the Sheriff’s Department is working with other county agencies on a plan to remove burned cars from major city streets. As communities shift their focus to recovering from fires, residents should expect parking enforcement to resume.
