This comes after Musk’s pro-immigration stance faced a wave of criticism, particularly from the anti-immigration wing of the MAGA movement.

Affected users, most of whom are affiliated with media group ConservativeOG, said they were punished after speaking out against Musk’s stance.

The accounts’ influence on the platform has shrunk significantly, prompting accusations that Musk blocks or censors those who disagree with him.

Some of them expressed concern that losing monetization features would impact their ability to continue publishing content regularly.

In response to the growing controversy, Musk posted a “reminder” on X about the platform’s algorithm, stating that accounts that are frequently blocked or muted by verified users will lead to a decrease in their influence.

However, this explanation only fuels further accusations of censorship. Critics argue that despite Musk’s claims to embrace free speech, he is punishing those who oppose his views on immigration.

Those affected include Preston ParraThe leader of the Conservative Party, he described the actions as “political repression” aimed at silencing conservative voices.

Parra has vowed to continue opposing Musk’s platform policies, which he sees as an attack on conservative values. The incident sparked a broader debate about the influence of tech executives such as Musk and their role in shaping political discourse, especially given his immigrant background and ties to pro-immigration advocates.

The controversy highlights ongoing tensions between free speech advocates and those who believe social media platforms should police harmful content.
