The real reason why the Warriors aren’t interested in Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler appears to be a good deal for the Warriors, but the team is saving draft capital to await the arrival of a franchise-changing star, according to an insider.
Many front offices around the league are praying for the Bucks to collapse this season so that Antetokounmpo might consider leaving, and there’s no doubt that the Golden State Warriors are one of them.
Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Steve Kerr have all been consistent in their recent comments, and the bottom line is this – the team won’t make any reckless trades that ruin the future, per ESPN’s Ohm Young Misuk thinks there’s a deeper meaning to it all.
“I understand where they’re coming from, and if I were Mike Dunleavy Jr., I’d be saying this — and obviously, I’m not. He’s a much smarter guy than me — but if you only have so many assets, as long as you have a real When a superstar comes along, I’ll hold them,” Youngmisuk said on The Hoop Collective.
To acquire Butler, the Warriors would need to give up a ton of future draft picks, as well as young developmental players like Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Pozzimski, and the team wasn’t willing to trade for Lauri Markkanen and Buzynski. Players like Landon Pozzimski give them up.
Youngmisuk went on to explain why he thinks the Warriors do hold up and why they are a real chance to land 2019 and 2020 MVP Giannis.
“I don’t think people are interested in Butler,” Yangmisuk said. “But if they do, you won’t be able to make a move if things get bad for Giannis in Milwaukee this summer. That’s why you have to preserve your assets to be there in case a guy like that has Attack him when empty.
“Because I think Golden State is uniquely positioned for a guy like Giannis because of Steph’s friendship with Giannis, and Giannis has hinted in the past that there might be interest in him and the Warriors from the Bay Area. To do this, you must retain your assets.
