(Reuters) – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said on Wednesday he was picking Kari Lake, a hardline Republican and former news anchor who failed to win a Senate seat in Arizona last month, to be the U.S. government fundraiser. Director of media agency Voice USA.
Trump posted on his truth-sharing website that Lake would “ensure that America’s liberal values are spread fairly and accurately around the world, unlike the lies spread by the Fake News Media.”
Lake, a staunch supporter of Trump who fought back against Trump’s false claims of fraud in the 2020 election, also lost the 2022 gubernatorial race in the swing state of Arizona and previously served as Fox 10 Phoenix’s Anchor.

During his first term, Trump clashed with VOA, accusing it of amplifying Chinese propaganda after airing footage of a light show marking the reopening of Wuhan, the city where the coronavirus pandemic first emerged.
