Whitney confesses trauma over her unborn baby's illness to Chelsea in EastEnders
Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) has experienced all the emotions of an expectant mother in EastEnders since discovering she was pregnant last year.
However, Whitney is set to break down to Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) following the news that her ultrasound has flagged a problem with the baby.
Whitney’s pregnancy came as a huge surprise to both her and Zack Hudson (James Farrar), following their one night stand back in November.
Since then, Zack has been dealing with the discovery that he has HIV; something that he has been keeping from Whitney out of fear, despite loved ones encouraging him to open up.
Things get even worse for Zack when the doctor at Whitney’s scan confirms that there is something wrong with their unborn child, leaving Whitney fearful.
Chelsea is quick to pick up on Whitney’s sudden change in demeanour, and urges her to open up about what is bothering her.
It takes a little while, but eventually things get too much for Whitney when she misplaces her scan photo, and ends up confessing all to a concerned Chelsea.
With Whitney terrified for the health of her baby, will Zack ever feel confident enough to open up to her?
EastEnders has confirmed that Whitney and Zack’s pregnancy journey will be a difficult one, as their baby will end up being diagnosed with Edwards’ Syndrome.
