Tom Parker described his brain tumour treatment as "never ending" during an emotional appearance on The One Show.
The Wanted star, 33, appeared on the BBC One series alongside his bandmate Jay McGuiness on Wednesday, where he was quizzed by hosts Ronan Keating and Sam Quek about how he was feeling.
Last year, Tom was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and underwent back-to-back treatments for six weeks in London.
Revealing he was feeling "a lot lot better" since the treatment finished, Tom said: "They were probably the darkest times of my life, to be honest with you.
"It's the travelling up for treatment every day and lying under that machine and them blasting you with radio[therapy]… it's very intense.
"They were just dark days, to be honest with you.
"For me, it was never-ending."
Asked about his thoughts regarding his glioblastoma diagnosis, Tom described his The Wanted bandmates as "pillar of strengths'.
He said: "It's been a lot to say the least.
"They've been a pillar of strength, to be honest with you.
"It's been an emotional ride for the last year but one that we hopefully are getting some joy out of at the end of it."
Tom was also asked how he found the strength to keep going amid his brain tumour battle.
On that topic, he added: "You just get on with it.
"When you're faced with animosity, you either rise or you fall.
"I think if anyone is in that position, you just do what comes naturally. You fight."
Last month, Tom reunited with his The Wanted bandmates on stage for a charity gig.
He also recently appeared in an emotional Channel 4 documentary, during which he broke down in tears as he revealed he 'couldn't stop thinking about death' following his diagnosis.
The One Show airs at 7pm on weekdays on BBC One.
