The first season of HBO’s hit period drama from the creator of Downton Abbey, Julian Fellowes, introduced viewers to the strict hierarchy of New York’s upper-class social scene and the layers of corruption lying beneath the surface. After the series’ debut proved a roaring success, the network wasted no time in commissioning a second season of The Gilded Age, which has just wrapped up filming in White Plains, New York.

Louisa Jacobson has taken to Instagram to confirm the highly-anticipated follow-up to The Gilded Age has now finished filming.

In her latest collection of behind-the-scenes snaps, the Marian Brook star posed with several members of the cast in full 19th Century regalia.

She captioned the post: “!! THAT’SAWRAP on SEASON 2 !! @gildedagehbo.” (sic)

This has now confirmed filming for the second season has completely finished just four months after production commenced this August.

Now the cast have all fulfilled their season two roles, it shouldn’t be too long before the first details and footage from The Gilded Age’s second outing are released.

Other returning stars include Morgan Spector, Harry Richardson, Blake Ritson and Denée Benton, who all featured in Louisa’s post.

Also expected to return are lead actresses Carrie Coon and Christine Baranski.

Plus, Louisa has also been making friends with season two newcomer Nicole Brydon Bloom, who joins the series as Caroline Stuyvesant.

Her character is described as “a beguiling socialite who is the perfect heiress for marriage” and is “wit and disposition”, according to Deadline.

Fans were, of course, thrilled with the news of season two’s completion, and have been celebrating in the comments below Louisa’s Instagram post.

Fellow actress Diana Agron replied: “Congratulations Lou!!”

While her co-star Nicole exclaimed: “It’s happening!!! Everybody stay calm.”
