Spoilers: Phil and Denise team up to defeat dangerous Ellie in EastEnders

It’s fair to say that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) have no love lost for one another in EastEnders but now that dangerous Ellie (Mica Paris) is on the scene – and has disappeared with their son Raymond as well as Phil’s cash – they realise now is the time to unite.

Phil has been left in a state after Ellie’s disappearing act and Callum Highway (Tony Clay) is on the case to lend a helping hand in tracking her down.

Ben reckons she’s using a fake name and they have no way of finding her. Later Callum asks DI Thompson for some info on Ellie, implying it will help him get close to Phil but he’s surprised by what he learns.

Callum tells Ben that the car crash was a retaliation attack, she’s dangerous and has Raymond, he has an address and phone number for her. Despite Ben insisting they need a plan, Phil calls Ellie and demands his son.

Ellie meets Phil at The Arches and Phil confronts her about her lies. They meet again later and Ben insists they need to do this properly and go through the courts. Phil declares that if she wants a war – she’s got one.

Phil tells Ritchie he wants full custody but she can’t see how the courts would hand over Raymond to someone with his criminal record. Fair point, given Phil’s history.

Bu Phil has a brainwave – he seeks out Denise and explains the situation and the only way they have a chance to get Raymond back is for her to put herself forward as the guardian and he will fund all of the legal fees as her silent partner.

Realising what kind of person Ellie is, will Denise go for this? And how will Ellie react when she discovers Denise’s plan to fight for Raymond, if so?

Could Denise be in danger of a reprisal?
