Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) has turned her life around incredibly well in Coronation Street, but she’s set to find herself in a whole lot of trouble in the coming episodes — trouble that could very well result in her going back to prison — which would be bad timing, as things between she and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) seemingly hot up once more.
Ray calls round at the garage and takes delight in revealing to Abi that he’s reported her to the police for not only stealing his car, but for torching it as well.
Abi’s worried, and thus Kevin informs her that it would be in her best interests if she were to invent an alibi, and she decides to do just that, as she asks Sally (Sally Dynevor) if she’d vouch for her.
What Sally says remains to be seen, but later in the week, Kevin does his best to be upbeat about the whole thing for Abi’s sake, and she’s touched as a result.
However, Sally’s not too pleased about the whole thing, and warns Abi to stop leading Kevin a merry dance, but Abi wastes little time in putting her straight, informing Sally that her feelings for Kevin are very much genuine — and Kev’s chuffed as a result.
After spending the night together, Abi decides to slip out of the house so as not to confuse Jack, but later, Jack insists that he thinks it’s great — and Abi’s delighted as a result.
However, Sally argues with Abi once more, stating that she’s somewhat concerned for Jack, and there’s more heartache in store for Abi and Kevin when — later — Ray sees them looking cosy and takes this as an opportunity to reveal that some new evidence has come to light in regards to the investigation, therefore their days are numbered.
Will Abi go back to prison?
Or will their happiness manage to last after all?
