Siddiqui brothers lives outside Gogglebox from actual jobs to off-screen family

The Siddiquis have become one of the most beloved families on Gogglebox since joining the hit Channel 4 show for its very first series back in 2013.

Since then, the Gogglebox originals, which includes dad Sid and brothers Baasit and Umar, have been a long-running staple on the show.

Now, the iconic Derbyshire family have returned to screens for the 20th series of Gogglebox, brining back their witty takes on the biggest TV shows of the week.

But while the Siddiqui family have become familiar faces on our TV screens, like all other Gogglebox stars they also have lives off-screen that we don't see, including their regular jobs.

Here's everything you need to know about the Siddiqui family's lives away from Gogglebox, including what they do for a living and whether they're married.

What do the Siddiqui brothers do for a living?

The Gogglebox cast do get paid for being on the show and while Channel 4 have never confirmed how much the stars get paid, it's been reported that each family pockets £1,500 a month plus free takeaways.

However, this means that the Gogglebox cast still rely on their off-screen jobs to get by.

When it comes to the Siddiqui family, Baasit juggles his Gogglebox appearances with his career as an IT teacher and in 2017 he also launched his own business Siddiqui Education, which offers educational workshops to support disadvantaged students.

Meanwhile, Umar has also had a busy career working as a biomedical scientist in microbiology at the Royal Derby Hospital for 18 years.

The brother's dad Sid is now retired but previously worked as an engineer after moving to the UK from Pakistan at the age of 16.

Are the Siddiqui brothers married?

As well as their jobs outside of Gogglebox, the Siddiqui family are also kept busy with their families, and there's lots of family members who haven't made appearances on the show.

Both of the Siddiqui brothers are married, Baasit has a wife called Melissa and the couple share two children together, daughter Amelia and son Theodore.

Amelia has made a few appearances alongside her father, uncle and grandad on the show, however Baasit's wife and son have remained off-screen.

Umar's wife has also chosen to stay out of the spotlight and hasn't ever appeared on the show.

The brother's mother has also never made an appearance on Gogglebox. Dad Sid has been married to his wife Narseen for 38 years and as well as the two Siddiqui boys they also have two daughters and another son.

The daughters have stayed away from the show but eldest son Raza did initially join his dad and brothers on the series and occasionally still does.
