Saturday Kitchen returned to BBC for another instalment of Matt Tebbutt cooking alongside chef Mandy Yin and chef Tom Parker Bowles. While the host introduced special guest, Martin Kemp, viewers shared their anger at the star’s comeback.
On the latest episode of Saturday Kitchen, legendary singer and actor Martin Kemp was welcomed to have a taste of the many dishes prepared live on the show.
He made an appearance to discuss his upcoming autobiography, ‘Ticket to the World: My 80s Story’.
As Martin discussed his memoir and reflected on his career and the 80s viewers took to social media to share their annoyance.
Many complained about Martin being a recurring guest on Saturday Kitchen.
This included @the_a_stevenson who tweeted: “Is Martin Kemp the default guest for #SaturdayKitchen when they can’t find anyone else?”
@buncie44 remarked: “Martin Kemp appearing on every show leading up to xmas.”
@The_Retro_Rose added: “Lovely guy but Martin Kemp has been on a few times hasn’t he? Are they running out of people to invite on, or few personalities will get up early on a Saturday?.”
A fourth viewer @cb_038 stated: “Of all the guests in the world they could’ve had on, they get ’80’s has been’ Martin Kemp on again… scrape that barrel BBC!”
Despite the backlash, other viewers were pleased to see Martin back on screens sharing funny stories from his career.
An excited @Boppity_Boo34 exclaimed: “Matt is back!”
@paul_gsy_ci added: “#SaturdayKitchen is hilarious this morning!”
Throughout the episode, fans were voting to see which meal Matt would receive.

Towards the end of the episode, it was revealed whether he would receive his “food hell” dish with lemongrass or aubergine.
He could have received his food heaven of pie and mash, which reminded him of the first trip to a restaurant with his nan.
Chef Mandy Yin was the first to head into the kitchen as she created a Malaysian dish from her cookbook.
She made a Malaysian pineapple curry with mussels, which wine connoisseur Helen McGinn paired with Vouvray Chenin Blanc.
Matt then took to the stoves as he shared his recipe for the canape, prawn vol au vents.
Martin swooned as he received the dish which was inspired by the 80s.
Chef Tom Parker-Bowles then headed to the kitchen to make a duck and watermelon salad, as he opened up about his other favourite recipes.
Martin enjoyed the dish with a glass of Fleur de Lise Saint Mont Rosé.
