Giuseppe almost fell apart during his first bake of the final, which hadn’t cooked properly because the oven door wasn’t correctly shut. He managed to impress the judges with his showstopper though, and Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith selected him as the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2021. Twitter user Beakmit wrote: “Chiggs was robbed #bakeoff.” (sic)
Moz echoed this, posting: “Chigs was robbed #BakeOff.”
Colin Hardy penned: “#GBBO shocking decision! Chiggs deserved to win based on that bake! #BakeOff #Robbed.”
