Ranvir Singh will take to the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor on Saturday and perform an Argentine Tango with Giovanni Pernice. The professional dancer has an impressive history with the dance on Strictly and Ranvir will be hoping to repeat his past success when the judges reveal their scores for the routine.

During an appearance on BBC’s It Takes Two, Ranvir and Giovanna discussed their Argentine Tango with Zoe Ball following last weekend’s Cha Cha Cha.

“Argentine Tango, goodbye Cha Cha,” Zoe remarked. “This is a great dance.

“It’s the first one, you have amazing music. It’s only Prince, come on!”

“The good thing is Ranvir that this one here has a good history with this dance.

“Of course Debbie McGee full marks in series 15 in the final. 39 points with Faye Tozer he knows what he’s doing.”

“Feeling confident?” Zoe asked and Giovanna replied: “Yes.”

“Feeling confident, Ranvir?” Zoe repeated and this time Ranvir hesitantly replied: “Yes.”

“Thank you,” Giovanni exclaimed. “Finally!”

Will history repeat itself as the judges award Giovanni and Ranvir their first 10?

Meanwhile, Ranvir revealed she was happy to turn her back on the Cha Cha Cha.

The GMB presenter admitted she struggled with the dance but Zoe praised Ranvir for giving the dance 100 percent.

Zoe pointed to a tweet by Strictly alumni Lisa Riley who wrote: “Watching @ranvir01 on @bbcstrictly is TRULY what the show is all about.

“She’s embracing every second, growing in her confidence, feeling sexy, breaking down personal walls and inhibitions.

“How incredibly brilliant is that? All women are at home watching WANTING TO BE YOU! Go, girl.”

“That means everything to me, thank you, Lisa,” Ranvir remarked.

“I’ve really enjoyed hearing people say that actually, it made them feel uplifted.”

She continued: “The fact people like Lisa and others were saying, ‘She’s going for it, it’s not good but we love the fact she’s trying.’”

“Lisa didn’t say it wasn’t good, that’s you saying it,” Zoe interjected.

“It wasn’t good,” Ranvir replied but Giovanni hit back: “It was, it was.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight on BBC One at 7.15pm. It Takes Two airs weekdays on BBC Two at 6.30pm.
