Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) is about to take shocking action and betray his brother David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) by allowing him to take the full blame for his own crime in Coronation Street. It seems like the warring brothers may have finally buried the hatchet when Nick agrees to finally tell the truth and accept full responsibility for the crime – but David shouldn’t trust him.
The very brief ceasefire between the siblings comes after the pressure of the animosity throughout her family drives Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth) away, with no-one knowing where she has got to. As Sarah (Tina O’Brien) calls the police, David tells Nick that if anything happens to Gail, then it’s on him.
Nick is given food for thought and decides it’s time to do the right thing. David is relieved and calls up Imran Habeeb (Charlie de Melo), telling him that he made a mistake when he claimed that Nick was involved in the factory collapse which killed Rana. As Imran is left furious, David is sure he did the right thing and he confides in a doubtful Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) that Nick plans to do the right thing.
However, Leanne Tilsley (Jane Danson) has other ideas – and tells Nick that she and Oliver want him home so he should stick to the original plan. As Nick is torn, he reaches his decision and stuns a betrayed David in court by going back on his word and placing the full blame of the crime at his brother’s door.
As David is left reeling, having already withdrawn his own accusation against Nick, the judge makes a decision. But will David be going to prison for Nick’s lies?
Or can David prove that he is innocent?
