Love Islands Zara and Olivia clash again in confrontation over ‘tension

There’s drama ahead on Sunday night’s exciting instalment of Love Island as Olivia Hawkins and Zara Lackenby-Brown once again clash over “tension” between the pair.

The feud first emerged earlier in the week, when Zara ruffled Olivia’s feathers during a game of beer pong, in which she was asked to kiss the “most two-faced” person in the villa, and picked her fellow bombshell.

Wounded by the choice, Olivia took it to be a personal attack, but the pair were able to smooth things over – or so we thought.

Tonight it emerges that there is still plenty of bad blood between the pair, with their feud set to reach boiling point following the results of Friday’s re-coupling in which Zara chose to couple up with Tom Clare, who had previously been coupled with Olivia.

In scenes due to air on Sunday night, Zara and Tom are getting to know each other with a friendly chat, when they are interrupted by Olivia who wants a quiet word with her love rival.

“I feel tension. I feel like you’ve come in here and come for me a bit,” Olivia tells Zara.

Continuing, Olivia tells Zara that her comment at the re-coupling that Tom had made his feelings clear didn’t go unnoticed.

Zara however is having none of it, and cooly shoots back: “He’s made it quite clear, he’s quite affectionate from the get go, you can be a classy lady but some people take that as you’re not interested, he’s taken that as you’re not interested.”

To which Olivia retorts: “I think that’s personal between me and him and I don’t really think that’s your business.”

Tensions are already running high in the Love Island villa since David Salako’ s elimination on Friday night, marking the first contestant to depart the show since it returned for it’s ninth season last Monday.

The 24 year old had been hoping to woo Tanya Manhenga, however his dreams were dashed when the bombshell saw her choose Shaq Muhammad instead.

There have also been rumours circulating of Zara and Olivia “playing up” their feud for the cameras, after it emerged on Friday that the pair knew each other before entering the villa.

Both stars work within the dance, acting and modelling industry, and prior to appearing on the show have frequently liked and commented on each other’s social media accounts for over three years.

For this year’s show, all islanders have been asked to make their social media accounts dormant for the duration of their time in the villa, meaning that any interactions between the pair date back to before they were publicly announced as contestants.

Taking to Twitter, shocked fans couldn’t believe the connection as they accused the duo of “bringing the drama” .

One fan wrote: “Zara and Olivia proper playing up to the cameras. Bringing the drama 4 days in yet they big each other up on the outside world on there insta pictures… odd. Aren’t they both actress?!”

“Why are Zara and Olivia pretending they don’t know each other? This might explain why Olivia seemed overly offended at Zara calling her two faced,” commented another.

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm.
