Good Morning Britian host Kate Garraway told viewers about an incident which took place during a taxi ride to hospital with sick husband Derek.
The 55-year-old explained that the taxi had driven over a bump, causing Derek to slip out of his wheelchair and Kate was unable to lift him back up.
Kate revealed that "they went over a bump and he slipped out of his wheelchair" and added she thought it "was asking a lot to require taxi drivers to answer 999 calls".
She added: "Luckily the taxi driver had cared for his dad and was able to help me."
Kate and co-host Ben Shepherd had been discussing the debate of whether taxi drivers should be answering 999 calls to help with the pressure being put on the NHS ambulance services.
