Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway is usually seen hosting the ITV breakfast show and recently shared an insight into her husband Derek Draper’s battle with coronavirus. Now, the journalist has agreed to front a new medical programme called Doctor Can You See Me Now?
Kate will be heading over to the BBC for the new project which she will present alongside Dr Guddi Singh.
The show will see Kate take viewers on a journey inside the body to see conditions such as heart disease and kidney stones and how they are treated.
Doctor Can You See Me Now? will highlight conditions inside the body through the use of augmented reality and 3D visuals.
Speaking about the new project, Kate said: “I am thrilled to be part of this fascinating new series.
“I believe we have all become increasingly curious about our health and well-being since the start of the pandemic, including me personally,” she told Daily Star.
However, Doctor Can You See Me Now? won’t be Kate’s first venture into the world of medical programming.
She recently saw success at the National Television Awards with her documentary Finding Derek.
The documentary followed Kate and her husband Derek Draper, while he battled the effects of coronavirus.
Last week, Kate took home the NTA for Authored Documentary for her work on Finding Derek.
It was also recently revealed the Good Morning Britain presenter is set to make a sequel documentary.
Kate confirmed: “We are going to make another documentary, there are plans for more.
“Derek has a very short window of energy, but we are trying.
“He has been home for four months now and it was enough for him being home,” she told The Sun.
After receiving her NTA for the documentary about her husband’s health battle, Kate shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call with Derek as she gave him the news that they’d won.
Posting the image on Instagram, she added the caption: “Wow. Thank you so so much.
“Have been in such an emotional daze all night I failed to get a single photo of me or the brilliant @flickerproductions team who made #findingderek @theofficalntas.
“But maybe this is the photo you most wanted to see anyway – Me FaceTiming derek (via Darcey’s phone!) to tell him we had won! From him and from the bottom of our family’s hearts THANKYOU.
“For all who are struggling on and holding on to hope – this is for you,” she added.
Finding Derek is still available to stream on ITV’s catch-up service ITV Hub.
There’s currently no official release date for Doctor Can You See Me Now?
