Jeffrey Archer and Ayesha Hazarika discussed the potential fallout from an explosive PMQs exchange on ITV’s Good Morning Britain. Ms Hazarika stated that Boris Johnson “lost the plot” in the House of Commons and was “rattled” by Sir Keir’s grilling.
Mr Archer said: “Keir Starmer was very clever, what he did as an all-pro prosecutor, he set up the questions again and again until he had got the answers he wanted because I think they have got someone who will come forward and make statements.
“The reason Keir Starmer was setting him up was because it was said at the dispatch box.”
Ms Hazarika added: “What was interesting about PMQs was by the time Keir Starmer ranked up the pressure through those six questions and he was very forensic as the top barrister.
“By the time he got to the sixth question Boris Johnson lost the plot, that rant was extraordinary.
“I have written a book on Prime Minister’s Questions, I used to prepare people for PMQs, I don’t think I have ever seen anybody lose it at the dispatch box like that.
“That is a sign that he is rattled.”
