Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) made a huge decision in EastEnders tonight (January 14), as she decided against having treatment, after coming to believe that her cancer has returned.
Jean found a lump on Christmas Day, and subsequently headed to the doctors for a biopsy.
However, while waiting for the doctor, she broke down — fearing that her cancer had returned.
In fact, she’s certain that her cancer is back, and therefore left the surgery before the doctor was able to do the biopsy.
She headed out to a party with Mo Harris (Laila Morse) and danced the night away, and revealed her intention to make the most of every second she’s got.
In tonight’s instalment, Lily complimented Jean on her eyebrows, and informed her that it’s a shame she’s got nowhere to go.
Jean thought about the young girl’s words, and — given that it was her birthday — she decided to get all dressed up.
After doing so, she recorded a video message for her family — one in which she revealed that she knows her cancer has returned, and this time, she’s deciding not to have treatment, before telling her loved ones just how much she loves them.
Will Jean perhaps reconsider and find out for definite if her cancer has returned?
EastEnders continues Friday January 15 at 8:35pm on BBC One.
