I’m A Celeb’s Sue Cleaver supported by Coronation Street co-stars amid backlash

Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver has received backing by her co-stars.

The TV personality, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV soap, has been living in the I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle for almost two weeks alongside a bunch of famous faces.

She has come under fire from fans over claims she's been "bitching" about fellow campmate and former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

In recent scenes, the MP admitted that he's appeared on the gruelling ITV reality show "for forgiveness".

However, Sue has said that she wasn't convinced and since criticised him for having a nap.

In a clip of the ITV show, she is heard saying to Mike Tindall: "It's come to my attention he's there all day sleeping.

I don't think he's showing leadership qualities. It's not what the people need. I think we need to plan a revolution."

She later said: "He just sits on his red chair, I've not heard him talk to any of his ministers about their role and how it's going in the job so I don't think that can carry on for very much longer. Watch this space."

While some viewers branded her a "gossiper" and "bitchy", her co-stars have supported her in the jungle.

Ellie Leach and Colson Smith addressed Sue's I'm A Celebrity stint and have said that the whole cast is rooting for her.

Speaking at the TV Choice Awards before the scenes aired, Ellie, who plays Faye Windass said: "We've been loving Sue."

Craig Tinker actor Colson added: "Sue is coming across really well.

"She really is a good influence for us in the Street and that's what she's doing in the jungle. We're all rooting for her."

It was recently revealed that Sue, 59, dropped an unbelievable three stone and four dress sizes by cutting out three foods from her diet and adopting a new lifestyle.

The complete lifestyle overhaul came after the Corrie star, who has type 2 diabetes – collapsed on the set of Corrie back in 2011 after suffering an attack brought on by the condition.

Swapping out food with a high sugar content, upping her exercise regime and adhering to the mediterranean diet, Sue has since gone from a size 16 to size 12, shedding three stone.

The first person will be evicted from the I'm A Celebrity camp during Friday's (November 18) episode.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly will chat to the axed contestant at the end of the show.
