I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returned to ITV on Sunday evening, with a selection of the celebrity line-up having to face their fears in front of hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. Jill Scott, Babatúndé Aléshé, Charlene White, Chris Moyles and Olivia Attwood were the first stars to make their arrival and fans got to learn more about them through pre-recorded interview clips played during the launch show. However, the stars were called out for revealing their greatest fears to viewers at home.
In the videos, each celebrity explained why they were taking part in the reality series and went into detail about what scared them the most.
When Loose Women star Charlene admitted she was scared of spiders and Babatúndé confessed he was scared of “everything”, viewers took to social media with the same complaint.
Elf tweeted: “Why do they always mention what they are scared of?”
Gemma Louise Ashton added: “Don’t tell us what you’re scared of. Silly billy #ImACeleb.” (sic)
Finlay fumed: “People are still telling everyone what they’re scared of, [they] never learn #ImACeleb.”
Alan penned: “One thing they should have learned by now on this show – don’t let on about what you are scared of. #ImACeleb.”
Laura said: “First rule, don’t tell the public what you’re scared of #ImACeleb.”
Mahria added: “Never ever reveal your fear because we the public will vote for that.”
Past seasons have seen the public vote for the celebrity who would struggle the most with Bush Tucker trials involving their phobias.
On Sunday’s episode, Babatúndé was unable to complete a challenge where he had to walk on a plank from a skyscraper in the Gold Coast.
He admitted he was scared of heights and said, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ when it all got too much and he froze with fear.
Olivia and Chris, on the other hand, successfully skydived from a plane onto a beach and secured stars for the camp.
However, it was announced on Monday morning that Olivia has quit the series on medical grounds less than 24 hours after arriving in camp.
A spokesman for the show said in a statement: “As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks.
“Unfortunately, the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be a further investigation.
“She has been absolutely brilliant and she’ll be very much missed on the show.”
Matt Hancock is yet to enter the ITV programme, but the bookies have said there is a 40 per cent chance the former Health Secretary will be voted to do every Bushtucker Trial.
Charlene is the 9/4 favourite to be the first celebrity eliminated by the public, followed closely by Matt whose odds are currently at 11/2 for the first elimination.
Former England Lionesses Jill is the 11/4 favourite to be this year’s winner after showing no fear during the skyscraper challenge on Sunday night.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2022 continues on weeknights at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
