Jonny Baxter (Ray Quinn) and Stuart Sumner (Chris Simmons) have succeeded in radicalising Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) in Hollyoaks, and the far-right extremists take things to the next level in the coming episodes — but with things set to escalate in a pretty big way, will someone lose their life as a result?
Ever since showing up in the village last year, Jonny had made it his mission to manipulate and groom Ste, and he’s done so by using the young lad’s vendetta against the Maalik clan. As a result, Ste has since become a shadow of his former self, and his actions have become increasingly racist — something which he’s unable to see for himself.
His blind loyalty to Jonny and Stuart has proven to be incredibly dangerous as well, as we’ve seen him get involved in all sorts of dodgy activities, from targeting Misbah (Harvey Virdi) online, to arranging a protest — the very same protest which quickly descended into chaos and thus endangered many lives.
However, Ste’s none the wiser to Jonny and Stuart’s antics, and things are set to reach boiling point in the coming episodes as a result. At Stuart’s family day, Ste delivers a speech — and he’s greeted with a rapturous applause. Jack (Jimmy McKenna) overhears and — feeling disgusted — decides to report them to the police.
Following the reception he received, Ste is on cloud nine, and wastes little time in taking selfies with his new adoring fans. Meanwhile, Stuart and Jonny discuss whether or not they should let Ste in on the plan — a plan which is set to take place on this very day.
Later, Ste agrees to help with Stuart’s big plan — but he’s no idea what he’s letting himself in for.
Jonny and Stuart have proven just how ruthless they are on plenty of occasions in the past. Between orchestrating the protest, to the attack on Sami Maalik (Rishi Nair), there’s no lengths they’re not willing to go to.
However, with this plan of theirs set to bigger than anything they’ve carried out in the past, the question is: will someone lose their life as a result?
Or will someone perhaps be caught in the crossfire?
Either way, it’s safe to assume that the residents of Hollyoaks will be left reeling when Jonny and Stuart carry out their plan.
One to watch: Monday 16th September at 7pm on E4.
