Tilly Ramsay and her partner Nikita Kuzmin were knocked out of the running on Sunday’s Strictly Come Dancing results show after an intense dance-off with Rhys Stephenson and Nancy Xu. Her father, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, was brought to tears by her final performance and opened up about her exit from the BBC ballroom competition on Tuesday’s episode of The One Show.
Gordon told presenters Lauren Laverne and Jermaine Jenas he didn’t help his daughter during rehearsals.
His fourth child with his wife Tana, Tilly made it to the tenth week of the series but her Samba failed to win over the voters.
The celebrity chef was clearly emotional in the crowd during her final Strictly performance and opened up about the night on Tuesday evening.
“A celebration,” he said. “Ten weeks of that intensity, that level of drive, passion.”
As well as enjoying her time on the popular dancing series, Tilly had also been celebrating her birthday during her last weeks on the Strictly dancefloor.
Gordon continued: “[She was] celebrating her 20th birthday as well, literally three weeks ago.”
Although she just missed out on the Quarter Finals, Gordon was immensely proud of Tilly’s efforts and saluted her performance again on The One Show.
“Yes, she did very well,” he said. “It’s an amazing gig to do.”
Presenter Lauren added: “She really went for it. It’s so hard, and we could see how proud you were of her.”
The chef agreed and exclaimed: “Oh my goodness me. You can imagine.
“Just sat there, experiencing that and helping her through it.”
Gordon then stopped himself, admitting while he may have offered her emotional support he was unable to lend a hand with Strictly’s challenging physical demands.

“Not with the dancing,” he clarified. “Because with these feet – it’s hard to choreograph such huge canoes.”
He recently stunned his fans by revealing he had size 15 feet, which made filming his new game show Bank Balance rather tricky.
Back in February, he said on This Morning: “I’ve got size 15 feet so I’m walking around this beautiful Bank Balance set on tiptoes.
“I’m trying not to sneeze, breathe or even just shudder in the event that the board comes crashing down. It’s quite nerve-wracking.”
Perhaps his substantial foot size explains why the celebrity chef hasn’t been tempted to compete for the Glitterball Trophy himself.
After Tilly’s Strictly elimination there are just five more couples left to take to the dancefloor this Saturday.
John Whaite and his partner Johannes Radebe are still firm favourites this year after scoring another impressive 39 for their Argentine Tango.
Meanwhile, AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington are still closing in, and BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker could be a dark horse after showing considerable improvement in recent weeks.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One. Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6.40pm.
