Goggleboxs Mica and Marcus admit never meeting other Channel 4 show stars
Gogglebox's Mica Ven and Marcus Luther have spoken about their time appearing on the Channel 4 show, saying that they’ve never met any of the other families that appear on the series.
The couple appeared on the hit show – which sees friends and family reacting to the best TV clips of the week – for five years, beforeannouncing their departure late last year.
OK! got the chance to catch up with the couple at the Together for Short Lives Ball on Friday 3 March, where they opened up on what they’ve been up to since leaving the show and their relationship with the other Gogglebox cast members.
Although they admitted it would be “nice” to meet their co-stars, Marcus and Mica said it was difficult since they were all scattered around the country and their day jobs got in the way.
Marcus told us: “A lot of people live far [away], so you never really meet anyone really and everyone’s all over different parts of the country.”
He added: “The thing about Gogglebox is, you live a normal life. We’re just regular people, so how often do you go and see Sally who lives in Newcastle?”
Mica agreed, saying: “We’ve got our day jobs. It’d be nice to meet up, but everyone’s always working!”
Outside of the show, Mica and Marcus have regular jobs, with Mica running her own hair salon and Marcus working as a boxing coach with his own gym near the couple’s home in London, with the couple continuing with their day jobs following their show departure.
Announcing their decision to leave Gogglebox in December last year, Mica and Marcus posted a joint statement on Instagram, which read: "We’ve had so much fun with you all tuning in at home and the hardworking Gogglebox crew’s but it’s time to put down the remote and see what else God has in store for us.
“To everyone that has tuned in & sent us messages of love and encouragement over the years, we appreciate every last one of you. Thank you so much.”
They continued: "To the amazing cast, you’ll forever be our G’box brothers & sisters 4life.
"And lastly, To all our Yardie friends & family that always big us up to whoever will listen, when you’re chatting about our departure, the program’s called GOGGLEBOX not GOOOOOGLEbox, it’s not a dam search engine."
Leaving Gogglebox will no doubt leave Mica more time to spend with her baby granddaughter, Koko, who was born last summer.
Mica is mother to two daughters, Sachelle and Shuggy, from a previous relationship, whilst Marcus is dad to a son named Shiloh with an ex-partner. Mica and Marcus share one son, named Yash.
