Good Morning Britain saw a huge backlash stemming from an episode that aired last week.

More than 50 complaints were reported to Ofcom after the ITV morning show saw a Royal Family debate turn sour.

The complaints from furious viewers centred around lawyer and academic Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, who stated:”No member of the Royal Family is a source of inspiration for anybody.”

Her remarks about the royals in light of the Coronation left a bad taste for viewers who soon complained to communications regulator Ofcom.

A total of 52 complaints flooded the watchdog after Tuesday, May 9instalment.

“Listen, slimming down the monarchy as a sign of modernity is an insult to our intelligence,” Dr Shola fumed as host Susanna Reid tried to defend the working royals.

“Not only is this pale, stale and predominantly male, it sends a powerful message of maintaining the hierarchical divide of class, race, wealth and privilege.

“A Royal Family is the face of the British monarchy, an institution that symbolises the entrenched structural inequalities that have placed British subjects in a chokehold of, you know, peasant mentality and servitude.

“In fact, King Charles had the audacity to invite members of the public to swear and allegiance to him when he’s the one that should be giving an oath of service to us-“

“He did!” Susanna cut in, adding: “He did during the ceremony, he said he’d serve, not be served…”

“No, but the point here is-” Dr Shola began before being asked: “Didn’t you do it?”

“Hell to the no!” She snapped before continuing: “Queen Elizabeth could have avoided scrutiny, transparency, accountability, but her successors are not going to benefit from the same.”

She argued: “You’re talking about all these people, Princess Alexandra -” before royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams cut in to talk over her.

The pair’s arguments couldn’t be heard as they began to row and Dr Shola stated: “I listened to your joy and your excitement…”

“Not my excitement, two-million people around the streets of London!” Richard fumed.

While ITV viewers at the time complained on social media about the hard-to-follow debate, it seems a backlash has since followed regarding some of Dr Shola’s criticism of the royals.
