GERARD Butler lived up to his party-hard reputation for hard partying as he launched a rant befitting one of his tough-guy screen characters.
The Scot had enjoyed himself at the Oscars ceremony with model girlfriend Morgan Brown, who dazzled in a slashed red gown, and fancied making a proper night of it later.
But sources say he had been drinking heavily when he got to the Vanity Fair afterparty, having joined up with two pals after Morgan went home.
He then flipped as doormen refused to admit his mates — swearing and trying the old Hollywood line: “Don’t you know who I am?”
An onlooker at the do, where guests included Brad Pitt, Scarlett Johansson and Renee Zellwegger, told me: “He had two pals. It looked like they’d had a heavy night, which didn’t do them any favours with the bouncers.
He joked they were The Three Stooges but his mood soured, as he raged: ‘I’m f***ing Gerard Butler.’
“They finally let him in but not his pals. He stumbled about chatting to strangers and complaining before beelining for a brunette, who he was chatting to for a while and telling how he was off to Madonna's bash instead.
“God knows if he made it there. It looked like he was ready for bed but he was determined to keep partying.”
Big Joaq and fries
AFTER an impassioned speech on animal rights, Joaquin Phoenix celebrated his Best Actor win . . . by chomping a hefty burger in the company of his Oscar and fiancee Rooney Mara.
Of course, it was pure vegan grub, from LA haunt Monty’s Good Burger, which the couple scoffed on the unglamorous steps at showbiz hotel the San Vicente Bungalows, in a low-key end to Joaquin’s big night.
While collecting his award he had given a rambling speech slamming humanity for being “disconnected from the natural world” and stealing cow’s milk.
It may have made the carnivorous A-listers feel guilty about tucking into the In-N-Out burgers served at the swanky Vanity Fair after-party.
JAMES Corden and Rebel Wilson poked fun at being stars of last year’s biggest film flop Cats by wearing furry costumes on stage.
The pair dressed up as their feline characters to present the Oscar for Best Visual Effects.
Film bosses had to re-release Cats with “improved visual effects” after it got a pasting from critics last year.
James and Rebel told the audience: “As cast members of the motion picture Cats, nobody more than us understands the importance of good visual effects.”
After playing with the mic like a toy they announced 1917 was the winner.
That minute on stage was funnier than the 110 minutes of excruciating cinema that Cats provided.
Kimye pals with Bey-Z
THEIR feud has been rumbling on for more than six years but Jay-Z and Kanye West finally buried the hatchet at the Oscars.
Jay and wife Beyonce offered Kanye and Kim Kardashian an olive branch, inviting them to their exclusive after-party at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
An insider said: “Kim has wanted to get closer to Beyonce, but Kanye’s issues with Jay made it difficult.
“They reconnected at P-Diddy’s 50th birthday in December and soon after Kim got the party invite.
“It is the first move towards them finally patching things up for good.”
Rumours of a rift started in 2014 when Jay and Beyonce chose not to attend Kim and Kanye’s Italian wedding.
The rappers exchanged a series of diss tracks, before Kanye removed his music from Jay’s streaming service Tidal in 2017.
Let’s see how long they can stay in each other’s good books.
