GB News host Dan Wootton invited his panel to discuss Good Morning Britain weather reporter Laura Tobin crying over melting ice caps on Tuesday. Co-star Becca Hutson, Dawn Neesom and Calvin Robinson made up the panel with the latter holding back tears of laughter as he branded the weather reporter’s actions as “performative nonsense”.
Laura delivered her weather report on Tuesday from Svalbard, Norway and broke down in tears live on the show.
The meteorologist was in Svalbard to highlight the impact climate change was having in the Arctic and began crying when she started to discuss her daughter Charlotte.
However, after seeing the footage, Calvin began to cry tears of laughter.
“Now she’s a lovely woman,” Dan said before warning his panellist: “Calvin, Calvin!”
“Sorry, oh my God,” he replied before the host asked: “Are you crying out of sympathy?”

Calvin laughed and explained: “What a performative sensationalist nonsense I’m crying at a picture of her bless her outrageous, ridiculous.”
“Her little girl is really cute,” Dawn reasoned and he added: “I’m sure her little girl is cute but come on.”
Urging Dawn to speak, Dan said; “You said Laura is lovely so you say it.”
“No, she is lovely,” she said. “I don’t think any news reporter, weather reporter should be crying live on TV.

“I mean unless you’re actually witnessing Armageddon and dead kids before you like some of the reports from Afghanistan I don’t think journalists should be crying on TV.
“It’s not your job, it’s not professional and, Laura, bless her, flew there to make a report on climate change. Why would you do that?”
“Becca, did you love this?” Dan asked his GB News co-star.
“I think we should do it when we do our weather reports on GB News,” she replied.

“I think some more emotion when we read the weather about the state of climate would be wonderful.”
Dan argued: “I love our weather reporters they are factual they don’t go woke, they tell us what we need to know.
“That’s what I want from a weather report I don’t need the climate crisis, eco emergency shoved down my throat anymore thank you very much I love our great met office professional [reports].”
“I think it’s a shame because unfortunately, it has made a slight mockery of what is a very serious issue, which obviously is what’s happening in this part of the North Pole,” Becca noted.

“I think it’s a shame that we’re now talking about her about being upset.
“Calvin is crying he is very upset about the polar bears, it’s an emotional issue.”
“You said it’s the most wokest weather report yet but we haven’t had our own Becca Hutson do the weather that would be the wokest,” Calvin joked.
“Some of our viewers would like to send Becca Hudson to the North Pole,” Dan quipped.
“They certainly would,” she agreed before Dan said: “But we would miss her too much.”
GB News begins with the Great British Breakfast on weekdays at 6am.
