Gavin and Stacey cast officially kick off rehearsals – but where's Uncle Bryn?

Team Gavin and Stacey are officially rocking, rolling and setting the World in Motion after getting back together for rehearsals.

Ruth Jones (who plays Nessa) can be seen beaming among the whole of the Shipman/West clan in a photo captured and shared by her partner-in-crime, James Corden.

While Uncle Bryn (Rob Brydon) and James, who plays Smithy, appear to be missing, or at least hidden from view, the rest of the gang are all there and accounted for.

There’s of course Gavin (Mat Horne) and Stacey (Joanna Page), then there’s Pam and Mick (Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb), and then there’s Gwen (Melanie Walters), sitting on the edge of the table.

On top of that is the surprise inclusion of Robert Wilfort, who plays Jason West on the series – Stacey’s gay older brother who lives in Spain.

Appears he may have relocated back to Barry for a bit, but either way, his presence is giving us hope that we’ll finally find out what happened on that darn fishing trip.

James announced just last month that Gavin and Stacey will be returning for a one-off Christmas special, catching up on the Essex/Welsh family and what they’re up to now.

Ahead of the reunion, James, who has reached international success thanks to his late night US talk show, admitted he was ‘sick with nerves’ about what was to come for the beloved show.

Hey, it can’t be as bad as the US version of the series.

In joint statement on the show’s return, creators Ruth and James said: ‘Over the last 10 years we’ve talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey – where they might be today and what their lives might look like. And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one hour special.

‘We’ve loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy.’

Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special airs Christmas Day on BBC One.
