Emmerdales Meena actress crowned Best Villain at Inside Soap Awards

Meena Jutla, played by Paige Sandhu, has been crowned Best Villain at the Inside Soap Awards.

Emmerdale fans will know of Meena’s recent villainous spree on the hit ITV soap, which has seen the likes of Leanna Cavanagh and Andrea Tate die at the hands of the TV baddie.

Paige described her character as ‘awful’ in light of Meena winning the award, but admitted that she loves playing her.

She said: “I’m glad the audience approve of Meena’s villainousness, and she’s taken the crown.

"Playing a villain is so much fun, and Meena’s so unpredictable – I love it!”

“I don’t mind being called ‘Best Villain’ because, to be fair, Meena is awful! Every time I open my new script, I’m like, ‘She does WHAT?’ The writing team always shock me with what they’ve got in store next," Paige continued.

Meena's evil streak doesn't look to be coming to an end anytime soon as viewers think they may have worked out who her next victim may be.

Meena and Amy Wyatt had an explosive argument on a recent episode, sparking Emmerdale fans to believe that she may be next on Meena’s hit list, and that her death would be linked to Chloe Harris' father after his security men threatened to hurt her while warning her mother Kerry Wyatt.

One person predicted: "Meena will kill Amy and Kerry will think it’s Damon’s men #Emmerdale."

Another viewer commented: "Important tip for Amy: Do not go in any mazes with Meena you have been warned ….your welcome #emmerdale."

A third fan added: "Well that’s Amy now on Meena’s ever growing hit list #Emmerdale."

As Meena continues to terrorise Emmerdale, things appear to be much happier over in Walford after BBC's EastEnders won Feel Good Moment of the Year for Ben and Callum’s heartwarming wedding.

Max Bowden, who plays Ben Mitchell, said of the win: “In a year that’s been so utterly atrocious for so many people, it’s nice to be accredited for something positive. And the wedding episode was certainly one that we put so much into.

“That was the first cohort that Tony and I have been a part of, and it gave us a chance to really act again together. It was lovely.”

Emmerdale continues on weekdays at 7pm on ITV. TheInside SoapAwards were announced in today’s issue of Inside Soap magazine, on sale from today.
