Emmerdale viewers are worried Vinny Ashdale is set to ‘turn into his dad’ after evil Paul’s death.
In distressing scenes aired on Wednesday, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) told her son Vinny (Bradley Johnson) that his dad Paul’s (Reece Dinsdale) body is set to be released from the morgue tomorrow.
She asserted that Paul "doesn’t deserve a funeral" after Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) revealed his abuse of Vinny had been stretching on for months.
But poor Vinny shouldered the burden of organising the funeral himself after lashing out at his mum.
He told Lydia and Sam that they should be the ones to pick him up from the hospital, and said he "doesn’t have a home to go to" after the fall out with his mum.
And Vinny later refused to even call Mandy 'mum', lashing out at her for not wanting anything to do with Paul’s funeral arrangements.
“The man you were gonna marry and you won’t even organise his funeral!” Vinny yelled.
He insisted: "You’re just trying to ruin his memory, aren’t you, ‘cause he isn’t here to defend himself!"
Vinny continued: "If I don’t do it, who will? I want to celebrate dad’s life the way he would’ve wanted me to. And I don’t want you anywhere near it."
And worried viewers took to Twitter to air their concerns: "Vinny is turning into his dad Paul," one wrote.
Someone else said: "Sorry but Vinny is turning into his dad. He carries on like this, then I have no care for him, the way he treats Liv and Mandy."
A third was shocked by the sudden change in Vinny’s attitude, typing: "When Vinny was in hospital did he have a brain transplant? It certainly looks like it. He won’t have anybody say anything about his dad who was a bully."
And another social media user added: "The script writers are turning Vinny into a different character, why didn’t he say this to Mandy when Paul was physically abusing him? Doesn’t make sense, it’s really getting silly now with Vinny."

Another viewer agreed wholeheartedly, penning: "Sorry but what you’ve done to Vinny’s character is just ridiculous – rather you’d killed him off than given him a complete personality transplant! Very disappointing Emmerdale and not believable at all!"
Vinny narrowly escaped death after being badly beaten by his dad and suffering internal bleeding.
But he’s now refusing to face up to the abuse he suffered at the hands of villain Paul.
