Dragon's Den viewers were left on the edge of their seats on Thursday night a as a bidding war erupted over a cosmetics company providing free hand care products for NHS nurses.

Jonny and Antonia own a brand called Nursem and appeared on the BBC show to ask the panel of multi-millionaires for help to turn their company into a global business.

The married couple explained that their company gives a month's worth of hand cream to a nurse or midwife with every product purchased a part of their business promise.

They decided to create the business when Antonia often came home with sore, cracked and bleeding hands from the constant hand washing needed to keep her young patients free from infection.

The pair said they wanted the product to be effective, natural and something nurses could use repeatedly throughout a busy shift.

They asked for £75,000 in return for a 1.5% share in the company and all the Dragons made offers.

All five panelists made offers starting with them wanting 10% but eventually negotiating to a 5% stage going down to 3% when their money is paid back.

Viewers at home were delighted as Jonny and Antonio received compliments from each of the Dragons.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "OMG everyone wants them"

Another added: "Lovely couple, product and global prospects!"

A third person posted: "All five dragons. Go on guys. You’re amazing."

While a fourth social media user said: "Nice couple, great product and all five dragons after them."

Presenter Evan Davies described the moment as "one of the most impressive equity climb downs in Dragon's Den history".

Businesswomen Sara Davies said: "I think this stopped being just a business conversation about 10 minutes ago.

"It is about the right thing to do and how any of us can support you on the journey you are on.

"You have got five equal offers choose the Dragon that is right for you."
