Gemma Winter (played by Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) will regret asking Freda Burgess (Ali Briggs) for her help in Coronation Street when she clashes with the parents over Aled’s cochlear implant operation. However, when Freda kidnaps Aled to stop Gemma from taking him for his operation, will the parents get through to her in time?
In upcoming scenes, George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) shows Freda the Order of Service for Norris’s funeral.
She points out he’s made a mistake with her husband’s date of birth.
George is mortified and apologises before assuring her there will be no mistakes at the funeral.
Meanwhile, Gemma meets other mums at the hospital whose kids have cochlear implants.
The concerned mum wants to be as prepared as possible for when baby Aled undergoes his operation.

However, when Freda discovers what Gemma has been up to she’s less than impressed.
The mum assures Freda they’ll still maintain links with other deaf people after the operation.
But, Freda’s not so sure and is hurt when Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) implies Aled with be normal once he has the implant.
Noticing how stressed Gemma is, Freda offers to take Aled for a walk.
However, she inadvertently overhears Bernie and Chesney discussing how time consuming they find attending deaf groups.
They agree they want Aled to speak properly and fit in with his peers.
Freda rushes off with Aled and Gemma soon begins to panic when they don’t return home.
Gemma opens up to Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and shares her fears Freda has taken her son.

The concerned mum urges everyone to help her find Aled so he doesn’t miss his operation.
Meanwhile, Freda is in the community centre with Aled showing him a website dedicated to successful deaf people.
Gemma realises where Freda could be and heads over to the centre to confront her.
But, when she arrives Freda signs that she’s busy leaving Gemma feeling hopeless.
The mum-of-four enlists the help of the interpreter who’s arrived to discuss Norris’s funeral plans.

Gemma tries to get through to Freda but struggles to convince her Aled’s operation is a positive thing.
She refuses to hand Aled over and the mum begins to concede her son will miss his appointment.
When Chesney arrives, will he be able to get through to Freda?
The parents want what’s best for their son and will be heartbroken if Aled has to wait for a new appointment.
Will Freda agree to hand Aled over or will she wait until she knows for certain he’s missed the operation?
