Trump uses drone controversy to mock Chris Christie

President-elect Trump used the mysterious drone controversy in New Jersey on Saturday to mock one-time ally turned nemesis Chris Christie.
The president-elect, who is set to take office in just over a month, shared an artificially generated meme of the former New Jersey governor eating McDonald’s and delivering more McDonald’s meals via drone, and mocked it on Truth Social and X his weight.
Christie endorsed Trump in 2016 but was later fired as head of his transition team.
Christie last year launched a brief presidential campaign for the 2024 election, during which he called Trump a “coward” and “Putin’s puppet,” but he dropped out in January.

“I want to assure you this, I will make sure that I never allow Donald Trump to become president of the United States again. This is more important than my personal ambitions,” he said as he took his seat.
Christie’s weight has been a frequent target of Trump’s attacks since the two fell out. Last year, Trump jokingly told a supporter not to call the former governor a “fat pig.”

Sightings have also been reported in other parts of the country, including on military installations, prompting lawmakers to demand answers.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and law enforcement have said the drones do not appear to pose a threat to public safety.
On Friday, Trump called for the drones to be shot down without a reasonable explanation.

“Mysterious drone sightings are happening across the country. Can this really happen without our government’s knowledge?” he wrote in The Truth Society. “I don’t think so! Let the public know, now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!!”
