Trump seeks to abolish the Ministry of Education: Report

President Donald Trump is expected to issue an executive order, possibly Thursday, aiming to abolish the Department of Education, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The newspaper quoted several people briefing the matter and reviewed the draft order.
It directed the newly oath Minister of Education Linda McMahon to “take all necessary steps to promote the closure of the education sector” to “the highest extent that the law is appropriate and permitted.”

“Experiences in controlling American education through federal programs and the dollar, as well as the irresponsible bureaucracy supported by these programs and the dollar, have failed our children, our teachers and our families,” the draft order reads.
Shortly after taking office, McMahon said she would “send education back to the United States.”
Trump has long talked about demolishing the Department of Education, saying it failed American students.
“It’s a big job,” The President says November. “They rank the top countries in the world. We are ranked 40th, but we are ranked 1st, and 1st in Level 1: Cost per student. So we spend more per student than any other country in the world, but we are ranked 40th.”

McMahon said in a letter to the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee (help) that she agreed “wholeheartedly” to Trump’s plan to abolish the department.
The department, which has about 4,500 employees, is the smallest cabinet-level agent, according to the Wall Street Journal. Currently, it is offering up to $25,000 incentives to most employees and quit or retire on Monday night before rumored workforce declines.

“President Trump believes that Washington’s bureaucracy should be abolished so that we can return education to the country that belongs to the United States. I support and agree to this mission with all my heart.”
According to McMahon’s rule, the department will work based on three basic beliefs of her letters: parents are the primary decision makers in the children’s education, and taxpayer-funded education should focus on “substantiated learning in mathematics, reading, science and history, rather than split dei dei dei program and gender awareness”, which should be a hard-working career.
