During an exclusive interview US Weekly, Troian Bellisario, Brandon Laraquinte, Eric LaSalle and Lori Loughlin discussed how their new show can introduce important conversations without taking sides.
“At least from my own experience, the show left me with more questions than real answers. I hope the audience can experience that as well,” said Larracuente, 30, who plays police officer Alex Alex Diaz said. “At the end of the day, we weren’t really trying to portray any story.”
Lara Quinte applauds On call Because “I just want to show the human side of everyone,” adding, “Hopefully the audience can relate to one of the characters. [on the show] In some way, shape or form.
Bellisario, 39, meanwhile, agreed that he did not want to “send a single message.”
“We want a lot of different types of people — who have a lot of different opinions about police officers — to watch this show. We want them to take what they take,” the actress who plays Officer Tracy Harmon told us us. [“Executive producer] Eliot [Wolf] So well said. He said, “We want to create a buffet, and we want everyone to come to the table and eat together.” That’s it. We don’t say, ‘Oh, you have this idea, so you’re not welcome here. You have this idea, so you won’t like this show. You’ll see people make incredible decisions [on screen]. You will see us make mistakes. No one is a hero. These people are human beings – they just happen to do the job.
“On Call,” premiering Thursday, January 9, is Wolf Entertainment’s first scripted streaming series. The gritty drama uses body cameras, dash cams and cell phone footage to track police officers on the scene.

while talking with usLoughlin, 60, expressed support On callAnyway, “intention” when “not trying to comment”. her partner Eric Lasalle When the lead characters and directors were added, I found this to be an engaging part of the show.
“We just wanted to present characters that were real and believable. We all spent a shift – or at least a shift – riding with police officers, taking calls and observing, which was very helpful. For me, as a director , being able to get on that cruiser and be a fly on the wall was my goal with the audience,” explained the 62-year-old actor who plays Sergeant Rathman. “We try to engage the audience so they feel like they’re in the car with us, on the conference call with us. Everyone is in sync with what we’re trying to do.
Lasalle said its “primary goal” was for viewers to watch “without commentary.”
“We are not saying [anything]we are just introducing. It’s up to you how to interpret these characters. You may like certain characters and you may not like certain characters,” he continued. “You may agree with certain roles [and] You probably won’t. But our job – and I think I’m proud of the work we do – is to present the truth of what we see and the multi-dimensionality of these characters that we see.
On callThe mission to stand out is to adapt to the times.
“Our audience is constantly changing. Police procedurals are not new and are definitely a Wolf Entertainment production. It’s classic and everyone loves it,” Bellisario noted. “Younger viewers are mostly watching streaming shows. They’re watching shows that are less procedural and more character-driven. We’re going to use the world of law enforcement, but we’re going to show you in a place you don’t often see. Show it, that’s Long Beach. It’s a whole new community and landscape.
She concluded: “We don’t show you a case and then solve it at the end of the case. Our characters follow the overall storyline of the season. But it’s really just about the time we spend between us and the relationship,” she concluded. And how it builds up and breaks down and betrayal and faith, it’s a really incredible blend of all these new ideas that I think presented a completely original idea in the show.
