Trump administrator orders sweeps in the Pentagon

Officials say Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the agency to develop plans for each of the next five years, cutting plans from the Department of Defense by 8% to meet President Donald Trump’s Priorities are consistent, especially peace through strength.
Pentagon spokesman Robert Saleses said Hegseth is working to determine the deviation of the Biden administration’s fiscal 2026 budget that can range from low impact and low priority ratios. Re-adjusted in the plan of Deng Li.

Hegseth ordered cuts proposed by Monday, according to the memo.
“Preparation time is over. We must act urgently to restore the spirit of the fighters, rebuild our army and rebuild deterrence,” Hesseth wrote. “Our budget will resource the combat effectiveness we need, stopping unnecessary defense spending , reject too many bureaucracies and promote viable reforms, including the progress of audits.”
The Washington Post first reported the memorandum. Fox News Digital has contacted the Pentagon.
Saleses said the money saved could be used to redistribute defense agencies to Trump’s new priorities, including “American Iron Dome,” a slogan for missile defense systems.

“The Department of Defense is conducting this review to ensure we make the most of the taxpayer’s dollar in a way that effectively provides President Trump’s defense priorities,” he said.
“The department will develop a potential offset list that can be used to fund these priorities and will refocus the department on its core mission to stop and win the war,” he added. “The goal of the offset is for the Biden administration 26 8% of the fiscal year budget, totaling about $50 billion, is then used to plans that align with President Trump’s priorities.”
Salesess said the cuts would allow the Department of Defense to stop all unnecessary spending through climate change and other “wake-up” plans, which brought the military back under the Biden administration. Hegseth stressed that the U.S. goal is to “restore the spirit of the warrior.”

The cuts are required to fire thousands of trial DOD employees in a separate order from the Trump administration, who are being supervised by the government’s efficiency department or threshold department.
