Travis Kelce says Chiefs aren’t talking about Super Bowl ‘three-peat’ yet

The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t letting their No. 1 seed in the AFC go to their heads — even if they could win back-to-back Super Bowls.

“I don’t hear anyone talking about any ‘three-peat’ [or] Things like that,” tight end Travis Kelceone of the team’s playoff captains said in a preview of an upcoming interview with ESPN Chris Berman. “Our focus right now is the Houston Texans.”

The Chiefs, who are first in the AFC Conference, will face the Texans in the divisional playoffs on Saturday, January 18th. The winner will advance to the division championship against the Buffalo Bills or Baltimore Ravens. Of course, the AFC champions will be guaranteed a spot in the Super Bowl against the NFC’s own title holders.

“Anyone can get beat in the playoffs if you don’t come into the playoffs with the right mentality, and the right mentality goes back to training camp and throughout the season,” Kelce, 35, told Saturday’s Football Explanation before game. “We have an experienced team. We have so many leaders who perform in different ways. Guys step up and they understand the task at hand.

If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl next month, they will become the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls. Kelce, in particular, signed with Missouri when they won the Lombardi Trophy in 2020, 2023 and 2024. (The Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 and 2023, and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023.)

The big game in 2024 will be especially special for Kelce. As well as winning the trophy, he celebrated the moment with a courtside kiss from his girlfriend Taylor Swiftwhom he started dating in 2023.

“You know, baby,” Kelce teased during her appearance on the show The Pat McPhee Show earlier this week. “You know this is playoff football, man. … I’m feeling excited. I’m feeling 22.” [like Swift’s song] Start all over again, baby. let’s go!

Days later, Kelce gushed about his “really strong relationship” with Swift and received her game day support. (She often appears at Kentucky’s Arrowhead Stadium wearing team gear and colors, plus custom jewelry commemorating Kelce’s 87 jersey number.)

“Tyler and I are happy and I’m excited to have this confidence and comfort off the court and all the support I could ask for inside the stadium,” Kelce said during the Wednesday, Jan. 15 episode. The Stephen A. Smith Show. “She loves coming to Arrowhead to watch games and cheer me on, so I have all the support in the world to continue chasing those dreams.”
