Richard Mansell wins Singapore classic with the final Hole Bird

Richard Mansell sank the birdie in the last hole, winning the Singapore Classic on Sunday and winning his first DP World Tour title in his 104th attempt, defeating Keita Nakajima in a stroke.
British Mansell scored 6 points in the third and final round, with an overall score of 16 points. Nakajima performed well, with the Seven Birds finishing with 15 shots, while Adrien Saddier and Tom McKibbin ranked third with 14 shots.
“God, I wish it came sooner,” said an emotional Mansell when asked about his long waiting for the title. “It’s such a feeling. … It makes those close and when I’ve been ahead of the way, it’s just worth it, and that means more.”
American Dan Erickson entered 54 holes on the last day after the game after the elimination on Thursday. Erickson fell sixth in the sixth round and hit two birdies and bogey in the third round.
Mansell, 29, hit five birdies in a row, offsetting this with another bird on the 13th before bogey on the 10th. He entered the 18th level with Nakajima, where he finished with a spectacular two birdies of more than 100 feet.
“So many people support me and believe me,” Mansell said, and his wife Ellie won. “The one thing I would say to people trying to do this profession, that moment is the most satisfying thing in the world, and it’s worth it. So stick with it and hope that one day you will get rewards like I do today.”
Mansell will walk away with a bonus of about $425,000.
