The woman says her wealthy boyfriend is paying for her rent even if he owns the house they live in
A woman says her wealthy homeowner boyfriend wants her to start paying the rent – but she isn’t sure he’s from the most logical place.
On the UK-based forum, the woman wrote that she recently moved in with the “completely owned” two-bedroom home he owned after three years of dating with her partner.
“He bought money for the family trust he established when he was born. He rented a bedroom for his friends [about $900 a month]. We share another bedroom. He wants me to pay him [around $450 a month] The woman wrote: “Best of all, all bills are equally three-way.
According to the woman, her boyfriend “says this arrangement will make us both richer – because I will be lower than market rents for similar rooms.”
However, the woman explained that her boyfriend’s rent request surprised her. “When we first talked about financial situations, before I moved in, he said that the money I saved in the rent might go to make our lives bigger,’” she said. “When we were discussing this recently, he said it was still true, for example, the money I paid him could involve his master’s program fees, which would benefit us in the long term.”

Since her boyfriend had no mortgage, the woman wrote that she “can’t see why” she should pay his rent.
“The amount is small, but I’m not sure what I think about it,” she said, still explaining that she still “benefits a lot” because she pays less than she herself rents a location at market prices.
However, the woman did emphasize that she “very shared” the room with her boyfriend, who said she still didn’t make room for many of her things that were “currently in the cabinet/locker”.

The woman added: “I ended up doing most of the housework, too, and I was worried if I based it on it, on the bill and so on.

Some mom forum users also expressed concern about their boyfriends’ motivations behind asking women to rent rent.
“Long-term, will he put you on his deed? You will sell it and buy it together, will he ring all the cash? He will become one [stay-at-home] In this case, will you make half the money? There are a lot to consider,” one person wrote.
Another added: “I personally think it’s unfair to charge ‘rental’ to a partner. Donate yes, but you’re going to get a property that you get in essence, who gets a passive and healthy income… to charge rent for your rent? Live in a box? Rent from bags and bags.

Meanwhile, others are unsure that the man was wrong to seek financial help from his girlfriend, even though they think he left in the wrong way.
“In principle, it makes sense that you should pay some kind of rent when you live there, but that should be clearly agreed before you move in.”
