“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin said she personally deleted the BLM mural

Sunny Hosting said Wednesday that she removed the Black Lives street murals in Washington, D.C.
The “The View” co-host officially deleted the city earlier this week with her executive producer Brian Teta as part of the “The View’s” “Desktop” podcast. She described the move as “sad” and “destructive”, especially because of her personal connection to the Black Lives Matter movement.
“Of course, I thought about it myself, because my closest friend is Alicia Garza, who wrote a letter to start the Black Lives Matter movement, and she is one of the thought leaders of our generation. So, I feel sad about it,” said Hosting.

Garza is considered one of the co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement after the 2013 #BlackLivesMatter hashtag in 2013 after George Zimmerman’s fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Hosting also claimed that the Black Lives Matter problem is “the second most important civil rights movement in American history” and that the removal of murals is part of “the continuation of American history.”
But instead of blaming Washington State Mayor Muriel Bowser for his actions, she blamed Republicans.
“That’s blackmail, you know, what will Mayor Ball do?” said Hosting. “This city can’t run, Washington, D.C. …. Without government funds, without federal funds, it can’t run, it can’t represent it. It can’t do anything.”

In a statement on X, Bowser said the murals and Black Lives Matter Square will now be part of the “DC’s America 250 Mural Project,” which will “invites students and artists to create new murals in all eight wards.”
