Watching psychological horror films has always been a serendipitous experience for me, as genre conventions often constrain storytelling in ways that are clearly painful. After watching hundreds of movies featuring unreliable protagonists with a troubled past leading to questionable behavior in the present, I come back time and time again in search of movies like this one girl who got away. While the film begins to make you question what is real and what is imagined by the protagonists, it becomes clear that sometimes you need to take things at face value, even if the accumulation of things will make you think differently.
