According to organizers, there will be 40,000 ground-based shooting effects and 264 shooting locations on the Sydney Harbor Bridge, up from 184 last year, and four aerial pyrotechnics platforms have been introduced between the bridge and the Sydney Opera House as additional shooting locations.
Fireworks will be set off for the first time at 80 new locations on the west side of the Sydney Harbor Bridge.
Fireworks were also set off from the roofs of the Sydney Opera House, barges and five city buildings.
Nearly 10 tons of pyrotechnics were used in the show, which is expected to be attended by more than 1 million people, according to organizers.
