After the hunt ended with CHP, a man shot and killed a man near Winnetka

Officers of the California Highway Patrol shot and killed a driver Wednesday morning after finishing at Winnetka Cul-De-Sac.

NBC 4 News reported that Centers of Health Protection officials were involved in a chase that ended at 2 a.m. in the 7200 block of Sunny Brae Avenue. It is not clear what prompted the pursuit or shooting. Multiple gunfires can be heard in surveillance videos of nearby houses.

CHP Sgt. Daniel Keene said the Los Angeles Police Department is handling the investigation into the shooting and refused to provide any details about the ongoing investigation.

Keane confirmed that Centre of Health Protection officers were involved in the shooting, but did not elaborate on it.

LAPD official Charles Miller said officials in the department’s robbery and homicide responded to the scene to assist in the investigation, but referred all the questions to the Center for Health Protection.

There is no immediate information about the driver. According to multiple news reports, people arriving at the scene said the driver was their relative and he was 21 years old.
