Small animals attacking traveler stinging at Boston airport

A woman was taken to the hospital after being cut by a scorpion stung while holding her luggage at the Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts.
Massachusetts police told Fox News numbers that the 40-year-old woman was waiting to take her luggage in the customs baggage claim area around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
The woman was then taken to a local hospital where she received sting treatment.
The state police did answer questions about the victim’s status or her travel before she arrived in Boston.

Police don’t know how or when the Scorpion arrives at the airport. Investigation on the matter remains open.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the sting of the scorpion is painful, although rarely life-threatening.
Bark Scorpions are the only species in the United States that carry venom strong enough to cause severe symptoms, usually between 1.6 and 3 inches.

Mayo Clinic notes that the species is usually found in deserts in the southwest of the world, but there are more than 2,000 species of scorpions, about 100 of which have venoms powerful enough to be fatal.
Symptoms of scorpion sting include pain reaching levels of tension, numbness and tingling, swelling and warmth.
