Senior drone team lost their dog in a “real movie” moment discovered in just 41 minutes
On the evening of February 21, a dog lost in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, was only within 41 minutes on the evening of February 21, after being rescued by senior nonprofit Usar Drone Team by using advanced thermal images.
According to owner Gina Manfredi, the dog’s shadow has been missing for 27 hours and “spends the entire frozen night alone” after “swinging” out of its seat belt and running away.
Over time, Manfredi decided she needed help to search the area from the sky and called on the Jersey Coast-based USAR drone team. The crew of professional drone pilots can help people find pets that are missing and aims to expand their services with a GoFundMe donation to help cover search costs.

Usar’s drone crew joined the night search for shadows, but using dedicated thermal images that allowed them to see Shade’s body as a white glow, in all darkness, the team could spot the lost dog and direct Manfreddy’s brother toward Shade’s position, in 41 minutes – a new record – a new record.
When Manfredi realized that his beloved shadow had recovered his safe hand, she cried “Thank you very much!” to the rescue team.
“I immediately felt a sense of relief when I talked to Michael Parziale of Usar Drone Team Group. His passionate, loving voice gave me hope and I knew right away we were in good shape,” Manfreddy said in a Facebook post.
