Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively want their four children to have a “normal” childhood

“We try to give them as normal a life as possible,” Reynolds told the outlet.
“I try not to impose on them the differences between their childhood and my childhood or my wife’s childhood,” the actor continued, reflecting on his and Blake’s respective upbringings and how his perspective on raising children has changed.
“We both grew up working class, and I remember when they were little, I used to say or think, ‘Oh my gosh, when I was a kid, I would never have had this. gifts,’ or, ‘I’ll never have the luxury of ordering takeout or anything like that,'” Reynolds shared.
“Then I realized it wasn’t really the bag of rocks they needed to carry,” he said, adding that his children had begun to show their own values. “They already appreciate and understand the world well enough to develop strong empathy.”
Reynolds explained how his children make him and Lively feel safe in their parenting style.
“These are the things I think about [would indicate] “If our children can empathize with other people and other children, we’re doing a good job,” he said, admitting that, no matter what, his children will grow up with a different childhood than his.

“Yeah, it’s different,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “When I was a kid, you would suck it up, walk out of the house, and be back before sunset, which I can’t imagine now.”
Reynolds also addressed the recent news that he will be taking a break from filming.
“I’m still working in the sense that I’m writing, whether it’s on ‘Boy Band’ or other things that I can’t talk about yet.
