Ron Funches calls Travis Kelce football’s golden retriever

Funches, 41, posted a clip from his December 1, 2024 performance at a Kansas City comedy club via Instagram on Sunday, January 19, revealing that he is a big fan of Kelce, 35. guest stars appear in Are you smarter than celebrities?Hosted by Kelce last October.
“I started doing this game show…hosted by Travis Kelce,” Funches tells viewers in the video. “We started getting friendly, you know? And then he knew I was coming out to do a Thanksgiving week show and he reached out to me on Instagram and he was like, ‘Hey, man, are you coming to my city?
Funchess called the Kansas City Chiefs tight end a “human golden retriever” and explained how Kelce invited him to an NFL game in town.
“He’s a good guy,” Funches explained. “He’s a good guy. He didn’t just buy the tickets. [but] An hour and a half before the game, my phone dinged again. He’s like, ‘Hey man, I’m getting ready to go into game mode, I’m going to turn off my phone, but before that, I just want to make sure you’re okay with it.
Funch was impressed with Kelce’s check-in. “You fucking Prince Charming – ugh. He’s amazing, he’s a human golden retriever. That’s probably why he’s so good at football. He just sees the ball and goes, ‘I gotta go catch it.’

According to former Chiefs running back Chuckandrick WestKelce, who played for the Chiefs from 2014 to 2018, pretended to be late at the Chiefs’ hotel so West, 33, wouldn’t be fined.
In an ESPN interview published on Tuesday, Jan. 21, West said he was stuck in traffic one night when he spoke to Kelce on the phone and told him he would miss the team’s evening curfew.
When West arrived at the hotel, Kelce stood outside waiting for him because he didn’t want West “to be the only one who got in trouble for being late.”
