Deci argued that Crubley should not be jailed until the case reaches the Michigan Supreme Court.

Oakland County Chief Assistant Prosecutor David Williams said in a statement Thursday that Jennifer Crumbley needs to remain behind bars because of her actions, not because she was 15 years old at the time son’s behavior.
“Jennifer Crumbley was tried by a jury for her own actions and inactions that led to the Oxford High School shooting, not for the actions of her son,” he said.

“The 12-person jury heard testimony and reviewed numerous pieces of evidence before unanimously finding her guilty and the judge sentenced her accordingly,” he said. “This was a shocking set of facts that ultimately led to the conviction and the Sentence of 10 to 15 years in prison.”

The Crumbley parents made history as the first parents to be convicted of a mass shooting committed by their children.
Jennifer, 46, was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison after an Oakland County court heard evidence that she ignored her son’s cries for help in the years before the shooting.
