‘Romeo and Juliet’ star Olivia Hussey Eisley dies at 73

The news was announced via a post shared on her official Instagram account on Friday, December 27.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Olivia Hussey Eisley, who went home peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on December 27,” the post read. “Au Livia was an amazing person whose warmth, wisdom and pure kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.”
The memorial service also commemorated Hersey Eisley’s “life filled with passion, love, devotion to art, spirituality and kindness to animals.”
“Olivia leaves behind a loving family – her children Alex and Max and her husband of 35 years India David Glenn Eisleyand grandson Grayson, and a legacy of love that will forever be treasured in our hearts,” the post continued. “As we mourn this tremendous loss, we also celebrate Olivia’s lasting impact on our lives and our industry.
The caption concluded: “We thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time and ask for your privacy as we mourn the loss of a truly special soul.”
The Argentinian-born actress was just 15 when she starred in the film Romeo and Juliet beside Leonard Whiting As Romeo.
The critically acclaimed film was a box office success upon its release in 1968 and went on to receive four Oscar nominations, winning twice for Best Costumes and Best Cinematography in 1969.
