Queen Camilla grants Mayfair hairstylist Jo Hansford a royal warrant
Queen Camilla has awarded her long-serving hairdresser and Mayfair stalwart the official Royal Seal.
Jo Hansford, who has been cutting the Queen’s hair for more than three decades, was one of only seven Royal Warrants issued by the Queen last December.
Ms Hansford said: “It is a great honor to be awarded a Royal Warrant by the Queen and I have been proud to be a client of the Queen for over thirty years,” she said.
“I think it’s particularly wonderful that the Queen is awarding it to a business that is all owned and run by women. It really shows that with courage and determination you can achieve truly incredible things.
Ms Hansford, who was described as “the best hair dyer on the planet” by US Vogue in the 1990s, recalled last year that when she first met Camilla she knew immediately “she had to dye it” Got to be blond.”

The Queen has remained a loyal client ever since, with Ms Hansford styling her hair during Camilla’s wedding to Charles and last year’s coronation.

Royal Warrants were issued to businesses whose goods or services were favored by the Crown.
As well as her long-standing hairdresser, the Queen has also paid tribute to three couturiers – Anna Valentine, Fiona Clare and Mr Roy. Warrants were issued for hat designer Philip Treacy, skin care products and treatments supplier Heaven Health and Beauty and veterinary products supplier The Forum Veterinary Practice.
This year, more than 500 companies have received Royal Appointments, with the list drawn mainly from companies that previously held Royal Appointments from Queen Elizabeth II or King Charles, Prince of Wales.
Companies receiving the coveted recognition range from Champagne (Moet & Chandon), car manufacturing (Jaguar Land Rover), cereals (Kelloggs), soft furnishings Dunelm and DHL in parcel services.
Nearly 400 companies received warrants in December, following the issuance of 152 warrants in May earlier this year.
In 1980, the king began to grant the title Prince of Wales.
